The Elks Hoop Shoot has been around for nearly 50 years. On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, Texhoma students participated in the 2022 Texhoma Hoop Shoot. This is a contest for boys and girls 8-13 to show off their skills at shooting free throws. There are 3 age divisions for both the boys and the girls: 8-9; 10-11 and 12-13. Each participant gets to shoot 25 free throws and the top two shooters from each division advance to the next round, which is held on January 15, 2022, in Guymon, OK. We have had some very successful shooters from our little town and the future is bright for this group too.

Boys 8-9: 1st Place-Mason Mitchell
Girls 10-11: 1st Place-Milly Cartwright; 2nd Place-Taycee Madrid
Boys 10-11: 1st Place-Kelvin Marquez; 2nd Place-Tag Berry
Girls 12-13: 1st Place-Katey Yates; 2nd Place-Emma Collins
Boys 12-13: 1st Place-Luke McDaniel; 2nd Place-Rowdy Powers
